Pet Festival 2013

The Pet Festival 2013 was held on Friday, 6 December 2013, at the Al Ahli Club, Dubai. The first Pet Festival was held last year in October 2012. This year’s event had more than 5000 pet lovers and around 200 Dogs attending, from 10 am till 6 pm.

Pets Festival 2013 was an educational and entertaining animal fair designed to raise awareness of animal welfare and to educate individuals about pet products, pet food, pet fashion, pet health, pet training & all pet services. The venue had many stalls of pet related business organisations presenting and promoting their products and services. Pet owners interacted with experts and veterinarians available at the event and were able to see and purchase some new and innovative products for their pets.

It was a family affair as children were enjoying the Pony rides and the Petting zoo, where children learned how to handle various animals and experienced petting them. Pet owners brought along their pet dogs and cats and the animals too had a socializing opportunity.

Another important aspect of the Pet Festival 2013, was the launching of the Emirates Kennel Club (BKC), under which Dog Show Competitions where held for All Dog breeds. Dogs were shown under the following categories namely, Working Class, Gun Dogs, Terriers, Toy Dogs and Non-Sporting. They will be judged by experienced judges headed by Mr. Ali Alredha of UAE. The Highlight of the show was a grand demonstration by the UAE’s Police K9 Units, lead by the Abu Dhabi Police K9 security dogs team. The Show enthralled the spectators
